IndiGo inaugurates flights to Ho Chi Minh City, its 2nd destination in Vietnam
October 18, 2019: In its bid to expand international operations, IndiGo, India’s leading airline, commenced operations to Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC or Saigon) from Kolkata. The airline inaugurated the first direct flight on Kolkata-Ho Chi Minh City route, making Ho Chi Minh City IndiGo’s 22nd international and 7th Southeast Asian destination, after the launch of Hanoi earlier this month.
Mr. William Boulter, Chief Commercial Officer, IndiGo said, “We are excited to inaugurate our flights to Ho Chi Minh City, which holds immense potential for both business and leisure travellers. The city offers a mix of ancient architecture, war history, blend of cultures and trade opportunities for everyone. In our endeavour to connect more international destinations with key Indian cities, we are confident that this route will be a step towards promotion of trade, tourism and mobility between the two nations”.
Mr. Boulter further added, “We have again received a very encouraging response on this route after Hanoi. We will continue to expand our network to meet the requirements of our customers, while offering more flexibility at affordable fares, on-time performance, and a courteous and hassle-free flying experience”.
These new flights are designed to cater to business and leisure travellers who are constantly on the lookout for new and affordable flying options. Customers who would like to plan their travel can book tickets through our official website www.goindigo.in. The opening of this new market not only reinforces IndiGo’s commitment to enhance its international operations in the Eastern region.
In Vietnam, Indigo appointed Huong Giang Aviation (HGA) as its GSA (General Sales Agent) who is responsible for all passenger and cargo sales and marketing activities here.
